The FOUNDATIONS
WICKET was founded in Paris in 2003 by Hugues de Peyrelongue to offer an elegant and discerning clientele suits in the finest English tradition.
In 2008 Hugues was joined by Stéphane le Blanc, who, after more than 10 years at Ralph Lauren, shares in running the shops and developing the new collections.
In 20 years the brand has become one of the leading references for English style in France… with, today, many influences, perfectly evoked by the names given to the different cuts on offer: Hampstead, Kensington, Windsor, Downton, Cottage, Turin, Rome,
Naples…
The tailoring spirit has always been very present at WICKET: the suits are made with a traditional construction (half-canvassed) and many ‘tailoring’ finishes.
Today
WICKET strives to find the finest quality in order to produce lasting pieces, while working with the greatest care on the cuts and details that make our collections so unique.
The experience continues in our shops, where our advisers guide you and find the pieces that suit you.
The greatest names in the sartorial world, such as Vitale Barberis Canonico, Loro Piana, Drapers, Reda and Piacenza, supply us with the finest cloths in which our pieces are made.
Our range of shoes, for its part, is made in partnership with the renowned house of Matthew Cookson at Crockett & Jones in England.
We attach particular importance to your satisfaction and hope that you will be entirely delighted with your experience of our house.
THE WICKET STYLE
At WICKET you will find the great classics of the English wardrobe, revisited and modernised:
The Kensington and Hampstead English cuts, with two or three buttons, slanted pockets with a ticket pocket, with padding, a fitted waist and various very British details such as side adjusters and brace buttons... the waistcoat with lapels to complete the outfit... the Downton weekend jacket, a tribute to the series, and covert coats or double-breasted coats…
But also timeless pieces such as safari jackets, the dinner suit, the wedding morning coat...
Since 2012, as a tribute to the English who carried their elegance from Nice to Naples, Italian cuts have completed our range in a spirit of ‘sprezzatura’ dear to the Italians.
The single-breasted Turin, Milan and Rome cuts, followed by our double-breasted Naples cut, are more unstructured and half-lined, and the shoulder is set in a more rounded way at the back, which gives these models a feeling of softness and lightness.
Our Italian jackets are nipped in at a slightly higher point, to suit the balance of the jacket, which is slightly shorter. This is very welcome in the spring/summer season, but also in weekend clothes.
