A grey Prince of Wales check, lifted by a red overcheck that gives it character. With Le Milan’s soft jacket, three buttons and patch pockets, it is readily worn at the weekend.

The cut: Three-button jacket; soft, unstructured and half-lined. Patch pockets, working buttonholes on the cuffs, pronounced topstitching on the lapels.

The cloth: Virgin wool woven in a Prince of Wales check, a winter cloth.

The trousers: Slim flat-front cut, belt loops and side adjusters, zip fly.
