A large-check shirt, between town and country. It is worn with a tweed jacket or a wool jumper, with or without a tie.

The pattern: Large checks on a white ground, drawn in fine midnight blue lines, often grouped in pairs, set off by a fine camel line and a fine sky blue line. Up close, each colour can be distinguished; from a distance, the shirt stays light, with a discreet grid.

The cloth: Two-fold cotton twill, whose fine diagonal shows even in the lines of the check. The two-fold yarn makes it strong, for a shirt you will keep for years.

The collar: Italian collar, widely spread, which sets off the face and the tie.

The cuffs: Single cuffs with two buttons.

The cut: Classic fit, neither slim nor loose, for comfort and a flattering silhouette.
